The blacksmith demonstration went on all day long -
it sure was a treat to watch, especially for the kiddos.
Thank you Eager Beavers!
Our village president, Mr. Sid Stahl hauling the wheat for the vintage wheat threshing demonstration. Thank you for all your hard work!!
The boy scouts finishing up their flag-raising ceremony - thank you, boys!
The Alamar Acres Clydesdale horses were enjoyed by many, especially the little ones. Thank you to MaryAnn and Alan Knobloch for sharing your beautiful horses with the community!
Thank you also to the Akron-Princeville Fire Rescue squad for bringing out your firetruck, ambulance, and also for the great rescue demonstration!
Here we have museum director Kelly Jenkins officially welcoming everyone to the event.
Sawmill demonstration for all to see - what a treat!
And finally - what we had all been waiting for and the hub of the whole day's events: the antique wheat threshing demonstration.
A farmer and his two young sons enjoying the live-action from days past. What a neat opportunity to see how Grandpa and others of his generation used to thresh the wheat.
Future farmer of America ;)
The Akron Townhouse School was also open for the day with Mrs. Ann Cordis dressed as a vintage school teacher complete with long skirt and all. We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful piece of history right here in Princeville for all to enjoy!
Peoria Zoo display - thank you for your support!

Here we have Mr. Ted Leman playing old-time piano and singing the words to go with the tunes! I kept hearing "how good he was" the whole time he played especially by the folks who could remember when the tunes he sang were popular. Thank you, Mr. Leman. It was a pleasure to have you at the Heritage Harvest!
Mr. Tim Gill : chainsaw carving - just look at that eagle!
Strapping young lads sawing a log just like the old days. Hard work!
Perhaps this little boy's favorite activity of the day (next to the wheat threshing of course).
Here he is putting an ear of corn into the corn shelling machine.

Who needs a sandbox when you have corn?
We sure had a packed house for our Lions Club lunch cookout! Porkchops, hotdogs, and burgers went fast along with the lemonade, chips, and homemade desserts.
Here is Joyce who donated her antique upright piano just in time for the Heritage Harvest. Apparently, this thing weighs A LOT! :) Thank you, Joyce!!

All in all it was a great day with beautiful weather, thank goodness! Many locals (and some guests from as near as Chillicothe and Peoria to as far as Chicago!) came to enjoy some of our pastimes and to support the Historical Association of Princeville. We thank you and hope you had as great a time as we did. Come back to visit soon!
